Citrus
The Citrus (Lemon) fruit highly produced rather other fruits in Pakistan according to the data taken from a trusted platform, the production of Citrus fruits suddenly increased between 1960 to 1965 – approximately from 800 to 1200 tons. In the Punjab province, the production of Citrus fruit is high instead in other provinces.

In the Citrus production, the Pakistan is 15th largest Citrus producer worldwide. The data unveiled that Pakistan produce around 2.32 million ton citrus yearly. As of Data, Pakistan was the 19th largest Citrus producer around 0.44 million of exports worth 166 million US dollars.
Mangoes
Pakistan is the 3rd largest mango supplier in the world, it produces around 8.5% supply to the world. according to the data it produced 1.79 million tons of mangos in 2022-23, also in the same duration the Punjab province has produced 78% mangos of the country. Pakistani mangoes are supplied to the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kazakhstan and Europe.
There are different varieties of Pakistani mangos like Sindhri, Langra, Chaunsa, Dusehri, Faijri, Anwat Ratool, Bangan Pali, Saroli and several others. All these most using verities of mangos in the country and also other countries.
Apple
The apple is the most used fruit in Pakistan as well as other countries, Pakistan is the 24th largest country which produces 616,748 tons yearly as of 2018-19 data. In Pakistan, the Balochistan province produces 80% of apples while the KPK produce 25% of apples.
According to the data of Gallup Pakistan, only two provinces Balochistan and KPK produce the apples while Punjab and Sindh do not produce the apples according to the data of 2022-23 shared by Gallup Pakistan on his official website.
The apple export increased as Pakistan is the 88th largest apple exporter country which exports to Oman, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, Qatar Bangladesh. Pakistan has exported 72% of apples to the UAE which is considered the highest export.
Dates
Dates are produced in high quantity in Pakistan, the country is the 6th largest Dates producer in the world. Dates are highly produced in provinces Sindh and Balochistan, and in districts Khairpur and Sukkur dates are produced in high quantities which are exported to all of Pakistan and other countries.
After Sindh, the Balochistan province also produces the dates to the country. According to the data taken from a source Pakistan had produced 560,184 tons of dates in 2020-21. Various countries import dates from Pakistan like Australia, Germany, Denmark, India, Bangladesh, South Africa, United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, UAE and other countries.
Challenges in the Production of Fruits
There are many challenges to face in the production of fruits in Pakistan – generally, Pakistan’s climate is doubtful specifically in raining season. If the flood heavily affects the, there will be a low production of overall fruits as happened previously in 2022.
When Sindh was affected by heavy floods in 2022 that time the Province and countrywide wheat, cotton, rice and other crops due to flood. At that time, inflation was high in the country – people faced high prices of foods, milk, vegetables, fruits and petroleum products. In Pakistan, the government should focus on agricultural development to produce more fruits, and vegetables and export to other countries to achieve export targets.
Every country needs fresh fruits and vegetables which are basic needs, so Pakistan is a country that produces fresh fruits and vegetables for foreign countries that means Pakistan exchanges its PKR into other currencies which indicates the financial freedom for the country.
