Unstoppable unemployment in Pakistan has increased the number of people who leave the country for better employment in foreign countries. Since 2018, a large number of unemployment cases have been recorded. This happens due to the country’s increasing population and the lack of job opportunities for fresh graduates in the private sector.
It is a challenging task for the government to make an economically strong country, in the past few years, the country faced economic crises due to increasing the rate of petroleum products, and gas and gold prices on the international market. It happened when the US Dollar rate highly increased, since the end of the Imran Khan government, the country significantly improved inflation rates of growing prices of oil, petrol, diesel, and other goods.
Unfortunately, the education system is not working well in all provinces to provide timely syllabi and modern technology in educational institutions. It is necessary to provide modern facilities in the education sector where students can learn advanced skills and technology to get international job applications for future career development.
Reasons for Unemployment in Pakistan
There are several reasons for unemployment in the country. Unfortunately, many graduates and MBBS students do not have any job opportunities from the government due to the leak of job test papers and outsourcing of jobs. So they don’t get a job easily on a merit-based basis.
In Pakistan, many people have shared their views on unemployment causes. They addressed the lack of IT, finance, accounting, and several other jobs in the country. It, the reason disclosed is that only a few digital companies offer jobs related to IT and accounting, but they pay very low salaries compared to any foreign company.

According to a report, more than 700,000 people have left the country in 2024. The number has increased by previous year, they go foreign for jobs, scholarships and other purchases but the majority are job seekers.

As of the data, Pakistan’s population increased after 2018. In 2023, the population was 247,504,494 later in 2024 it is projected to be 251,269,164. With the growing population, several issues like poverty, unemployment and economic crises happened. It is predicted the population increase to 245.50 million.
The government took steps to decrease the growing population in the country, a country with a high population has many issues related to the country’s economy and the future of its development. It is also challenging to manage education, and other sectors as well.

A report shows approximately seven lakh people moved to foreign countries for better job opportunities and education purposes. Most people have travelled to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain. Among these are doctors, engineers, nurses and helpers. Sources added that Pakistanis easily get the visa in these countries without any delay and high work visa fees.
Pakistan country has lost talented people every year due to a shortage of employment opportunities in the country. People choose any specific country based on their interest and job source, some people do not get jobs by paying the fees of a passport due to misinformation through fraudsters.
Reason of Unemployment in Country
Pakistan is part of the digital world where IT companies and other business industries are located, these industries produce goods, cloths, and several other sugar, rice and other mils providing career opportunities but these are limited opportunities and it is not enough for all Pakistanis to eliminate unemployment.

Every year, people decide to move to an independent foreign country where rules and regulations are equal for every citizen and have basic facilities to spend the best time of life. Pakistanis can not get additional time after a job, usually, an employee performs his duty over time with a high work burden with a low salary. The data disclose that over 9 million Pakistanis have left the country for various reasons to move to any foreign country. In addition to this, many companies have already left the country, there’s only one reason behind their leaving the country that the company get loss with its services.
Current Ratio of Unemployed in Country
According to the report of the Pakistan Economic Survey, approximately 4 million people are still jobless in the country who are seeking jobs. The highest rate of unemployment is between 15-24 years youth, at the age of 25 to 35 years are recorded as the unemployed in this 5.4% are male and 13.3% are females.
Government Free Skills Programs
To eliminate unemployment, the Pakistan government taking admirable steps to teach the skills through its short skills program which works countrywide. The program offers free admissions into IT Courses, electric diplomas, tailor classes and others as well as makes them eligible for any job inside the country or outside the country.
NAVTCC is a government-owned education institution which funded to teach poor students in the entire country. The program has taught many students as they are now in stable condition who are working as electricians, Computer Teachers, and freelancers and have a best source of income.
Several other education welfare institutes offer free courses for students, another side every province has announced free admission in various courses like BBSYDP, e-hunar and other programs.
