Arshad Nadeem becomes the most popular Pakistani Olympian after wining the gold medal, he created the history by throwing to 92.97 away in Olympic Games Paris 2024. He is first Pakistani to qualify in the final and also he had played in Tokyo 2020 Olympic game where he couldn’t shows satisfactory performance.
In Olympic Games Pairs 2024, many players got chance of wining the gold medal but Arshad Nadeem’s hard and passion bring proud moment for him and nation. He got more popularity after wining the gold medal.
Indian Neeraj chopra said in a statement about his performance that “I couldn’t preform well as I should to do due to my groin injury he more added that since three years I was not completely fit to work hard and my techniques and plans were failed as I thought”.
Biography of Arshad Nadeem
Arshad Nadeem born on January 2, 1997 in Mian Channu, Punjab province. His native language is Punjabi and the family belong to the Sukhera Rajput community. He was passionate to play games in childhood, according to his father that Arshad Nadeem was focused on the game he play district level cricket tournaments.
In 2015 he started competing in javelin competitions and after the hard work he got the scholarship from World Athletics, through this scholarship he got opportunity of training at IAAF High Performance Training Center at Mauritius.
He won the bronze medal with by throwing 76.33m away in 2017 at Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku. In the qualification round of Commonwealth Games he did his best with the throw of 80.45m in April 2018.
Olympic Career from 2020
Nadeem start his career by playing his first debut in 2020 Summer Olympics which were held in 2021 in Tokyo and he was the only first Pakistani to qualify for Olympics. In a report his father said that Arshad Nadeem was not well-prepared and he hadn’t got any training by a professional trainer, he only prepared himself in society streets and at home.
His father added more that he didn’t received any financial support from government side after the Tokyo Olympics 2021. He was ignored by cricket official when he talked about difficulties and limited facilities for cricketers.
World Athletics Championship 2022
He represent the Pakistani in World Athletics Championship 2022 in Eugene, Oregon, United States. Before starting of this championship, Nadeem started training under the supervision of coach Terseus Liebenberg. He thrown 86.16m away in World Athletics Champions 2022 which was started in July of 2022.
Commonwealth Games 2022
The Commonwealth Games 2022 started in 2022, in this game Arshad Nadeem represent the country and won the gold medal for country and set the record of 90.18m with his throw.
Islamic Games 2022 (Gold Medal)
He won the another gold medal after the five days of commonwealth 2022, in this session he broke the game records with his throw of 88.55m long. He become the proud of Pakistan to represent the country in the World.
After these victories he face different injuries and ruled out from games, he tried to improve himself to join the leagues again with satisfactory with performance and health conditions and finally he played again different leagues.
Silver Medal – World Athletics Championship 2023
He didn’t stop wining the medal, in Worlds Athletics Championship he won the silver medal by securing the throw of 87.82m away. By wining the silver medal he qualified for Summer Olympics 2024.
Paris Olympics 2024
He become the first Pakistani athlete to qualify and win the Olympic gold medal with historic throw of 92.97m. It is also noted that he had broken the record of Norwegian Andreas Thorkildesn of 90.57m throw.
After winning the gold medal Arshad Nadeem received cash rewards, car, and more awards. Regarding his victory the prime minister of Pakistan held a ceremony at PM House, prime minister Shahbaz Sharif rewarded with cash price of Rs. 150 million.
The PM addressed in ceremony that the road between F-9 & F-10 will be given name of Arshad Nadeem due to his high performance in Olympic game, Paris.
PM Shahbaz Sharif also announced the cash reward of Rs. 100 million for Arshad Nadeem’s coach and for better training.
CM Punjab Visit Arshad Nadeem Home
Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz has also visited Nadeem’s house in Milan Channu and congratulated him on historical victory after 40 years.
According to the sources, CM Punjab rewarded him with cheque of Rs. 100 million with Honda car along with special car number PK 92. 97. Excluding this CM has issued a cheque of Rs. 5 million to his coach.
Governor Sindh Announced the Reward for Nadeem
Arshad Nadeem receive many rewards after his success, the Sindh governor Kamran Tessori has also announced the reward of Rs. 20 million to Nadeem and congratulated him on his success.
